The week 33 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match
between Mountain of Fires and Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC and Abia Warriors
has been shifted till 8am tomorrow morning due to waterlogged pitch at the
Agege Stadium.
The match which was earlier fixed for 4pm on Sunday was moved
after due consultations by the match officials.
The match commissioner, Usman Lakasta from Zamfara State, the center
referee Nura Abdullahi from Zamfara State, AR1 Kabiru Usman from Zamfara State as well as
AR2 Zaidu Usman from Sokoto State put heads together and decided to move the game due
to the situation in the stadium.
The two teams were already at the stadium in preparation for
the game before they were told about the development few minutes to the match kick-off.
“The two teams have been briefed that the game could not hold
today and it will go ahead tomorrow morning by 8am. The pitch is not favourable
for the game. The ball is not bouncing because of the water on the pitch,” one
of the officials told SportingLife.
