NPFL fastest goal delights Nwagua

By Taofeek Babalola

Kano Pillars striker Nyima Nwagua has credited his team’s technical crew after he scored what looked like the fastest goal in the league on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.

The former Lobi Stars FC forward scored Sai Masu Gida’s first goal in the 3-1 win over Sunshine Stars in less than ten seconds into the game of the matchday 24 in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

In a chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Nwagua said he has been dreaming of scoring
an important goal for Sai Masu Gida since joining the team during the mid-season transfer.

“I never knew the goal was so great like that until after the match. I feel so good because it was something I have been trying to do since I joined the team. The technical crew always tells us to hit the target anytime we have the ball that was what I just did and it worked. I just joined the team and everything is working well and everybody is ready to deliver. The atmosphere and reception here is commendable,” Nwagua said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

The Pyramid City outfit is currently occupy 9th position on the log but Nwagua believes that the team now has characters to challenge for top position in the league.

“I can’t really tell how we are going to end the season. This is not Kano Pillars position and we are gradually getting towards where we belong. We will continue to work very hard in ensuring that we meet our set target and by the grace of God we will end the season among the best teams,” Nwagua added.
