Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan technical Adviser, Fatai Amoo has admitted
that Sunshine Stars gave his side a tough game in the matchday 22 of the
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium,
Adamasingba, Ibadan, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Amoo and his
boys heaved a sigh of relief after their first win in four matches against
their arch rivals Sunshine Stars in the South West derby on Sunday.
Ajani
Ibrahim’s 7th minute goal separated both sides in the tough contest that saw
two of the new 3SC players Wasiu Jimoh and Abu Azeez made their debut.
Amoo confessed
that the game was a difficult one but commended his wards for giving it all to
secure the maximum three points.
"We
knew it would be difficult because it was a South West Derby but we gave all to
win. Our focus is the next game. We must keep working hard," Amoo said.
In his
reaction, Sunshine Stars coach Austin Eguavoean said his side will continue to
work hard for their next matches.
Eguavon
said: "It's a good game but we lost. We scored a goal but the referee over
ruled it. He has the final say. We shall work harder."
The Oluyole
Warriors are still rooted at the 19th position. The team’s next match is at
home to Kano Pillars on Wednesday.
