ABS’s game was tough, says Agoye

By Taofeek Babalola

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan head coach, Edith Agoye has admitted that his side laboured to earn their victory over Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) in the Match-Day 25 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

The Oluyole Warriors secured a 2-0 win over their visitors but Agoye insisted that it was a difficult game and his boys worked very hard to get the needed victory at the Lekan salami Stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan.

“It was tough. It was difficult but the players gave it all and result justified the hard work,” Agoye said.

3SC scored in the 58th minute when Wasiu Jimoh's free kick found an unmarked Adebayo Ibrahim inches away from the goal line and made no mistakes to head home the first of the day to the delight of Ibadan fans.

The 3SC fans will have Samuelson Owono to thank as he stood tall in the defense for Oluyole Warriors to deny the Saraki Boys any chance of winning any aerial challenge.

Substitute Sunday Faleye, who replaced Super Sand Eagles star, Abu Azeez scored a fine goal in the 85th minute to double the advantage for the homers and put the game beyond the visitors.

There were late minutes flashes from the Saraki Boys but Owono was always up to the task to deny the Ilorin based side.
