Wikki Tourists defeated El Kanemi Warriors 2-1 in the matchday 22 fixture of the Nigeria Professional football League at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The match which
was tagged the northern derby lived up to its billing as both sides displayed
quality football in front of mammoth crowd that watched the game.

straight home wins for the new technical crew under coach Bala Nikyu and the
new management board under Auwalu Baba Jada rescue team.
The Big Elephants
got the game to a beautiful start as Bala Nikyu's men troubled the visitors
defence w
ith Ahmed Usman led the attack.
Their efforts
yielded positive result in the 13th minute when Gabayan Lemme Ismail gave the
homers a comfortable lead to the delight of home fans.
Wikki's left
back Wasiri Christopher denied visitors a chance to level score when he brought
down Yahuza Bala on the edge of the box as the former Sunshine Stars forward
made an attempt to get the ball pass him and free kick was awarded to El Kanemi
Warriors. Matthias Samuel blew off a glorious chance to level for the visitors as
his effort from free kick spot went wide.
Festus Umanah
doubles the lead for Wikki Wikki Tourists in the 68th minute to ensure that his
side secured a maximum three points at stake in the match.
Efe Yarhere scored
a consolation goal for El-Kanemi Warriors but his late effort was not enough to
save coach ladan Bosso-tutored side from another away defeat.
Wikki
Tourists have now scored at least a goal in four consecutive NPFL fixtures
against El-Kanemi Warriors.
The last
time El Kanemi Warriors defeated Wikki Tourists at their home ground was in
21st of July 2013.
