RELEGATION BATTLE: Manu Garba demands 100% commitment from players

By Taofeek Babalola

Gombe United technical adviser Manu Garba has made a passionate appeal to his wards to redouble their efforts so as to save the team from relegation, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.

Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that the Savannah Scorpions are languishing in the relegation zone and the former Flying Eagles gaffer believes that the players have an important role to play for the team’s survival.

After their last training session on Tuesday morning at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, the former Golden Eaglets manager told his lads that the team’s survival can start from Wednesday’s matchday 26 of the Nigeria Professional football League (NPFL) encounter against Abia Warriors by getting maximum three points at stake in the tie.

Garba stressed that anything less than a win in the match is unacceptable, considering the precarious situation they found themselves in.

"Gentleman! You know what is at stake and to get out of the relegation waters, your commitment must be hundred percent. I know you can do it and all you need to do is to play according to instructions," Garba pleaded.

Gombe United are 19th on the log with 27 points from 25 matches played so far this season.
