Eagles’ and Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa has been turbaned as Jagaban
Matasan Arewa by the Association of Northern Nigerian Students, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The
turbaning ceremony took place in Kano State on Thursday during the commissioning
of the multimillion naira Ahmed Musa Sports and Fitness Center.
Kano
State Governor, Umar Ganduje, who was represented at the event by the chairman
Kano State Sports Commission, Alh Ibrahim Galadima, expressed appreciation to
Musa for his efforts for the development of Sports in Kano and Nigeria in
general.

He
urged people in the state to use the center adequately. He called on other
Nigerians to emulate Musa in that direction.
In
his massage, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick, who was
represented by the Chairman of Chairmen, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, described Musa as
a committed and disciplined player, and urged him to invest more in other parts
of the country.
He
reaffirmed the efforts of the federation to support Musa and any player willing
to develop sports in the country.

Musa
urged stakeholders in Kano to patronise the Centre in other to achieve the
target.
“I
will never forget the people of Kano, particularly Kano Pillars family for the
role they played in my career,” Musa said to Sportinlens.blogspot.com.
Other
dignitaries present at the event were Kano Pillars’ chairman, Tukur Babangida,
President Kano All Stars, Alh Abdul Rasaq Baba, players’ representatives,
Patrick Pascal M.O.N, former Military Administrator of Akwa Ibom State Col.
Yakubu Bako.
Others
are Kano State FA chairman, Rabiu Inua Ahlan, Super Eagles Chief coach Salisu
Yusuf and the chairman Sport Writer Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State
chapter, Rilwan Idris Malikawa.
