Tourists technical adviser, Bala Nikyu has set his sight on getting more away
points before the end of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League
(NPFL) season, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.
Nikyu led
the Giants Elephants to its first away point this season after playing a
goalless draw against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the matchday 25 on Sunday at Nnewi
Stadium.
Nikyu told Sportinglens.blogspot.com
that he is poised to make the team big again.
“It was a
good outing for us and we thanked God that we were able to achieve it against
Ifeanyi Ubah. We were determined for the match and I want to commend my players
for their resilient and dedication throughout the match. It was not a difficult
game and it was not an easy one as well. But it was a 50-50 encounter.
“In fact, we
would have won the game and picked three points in that match because we had
some late minute chances in the added times but we were unable to convert the
chances. If we had converted those chances it would have been another story
entirely. Well, the match has been play
and it is now behind us. Our focus is now on our next games. We will ensure
that we pick another away point before the season end. Although, I don’t know
where and when it will happen but we will surely work for it,” Nikyu said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
The former
Katsina United manager said he would ensure that his wards are not over
celebrating the Ifeanyi Ubah’s feat.
“Well, it is
not a good thing to work very hard and get point away and come back home and
let it slip away. We will ensure that the players keep their focus and
determination and make them look as if they are suffering in the training so
that they will know that it is not over yet,” Nikyu added.
