By Taofeek Babalola

El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri back to winning way on Sunday after beating Remo Stars 2-0 in the matchday 25 of the Nigeria Professional football League (NPFL) at the Maiduguri Township Stadium, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

The Borno Army was without a win in three consecutive games for the first time since March 2016 before they finally heaved a sigh of relief on Sunday while Remo Stars were unbeaten in their last three matches without conceding a goal, for the first time this season, but having gone 345 minutes without conceding a goal in the NPFL, Remo Stars have allowed two goals today.

It is now four years and three months since El-Kanemi failed to score at the Maiduguri Township Stadium - a run of 43 home games.

Sunday Anthony’s brace gave the coach Ladan Bosso tutored side all three points at stake in the match to move up to second position in the league table.

Anthony becomes the 2nd player after Samuel Mathias to score two goals in a game for El Kanemi this season.

El-Kanemi's Bala Yahuza was suspended for the match due to accumulated yellow cards bagged on Matchdays 13, 15, 20, 22 and 24.

Remo Stars goalkeeper Chizoba Ndukwe has kept the longest current (home & away) clean sheets of games (317 minutes).
