
Usman was
heads and shoulders ahead of Ikefe and Suleman during the voting process on the
NPFL offical website and Twitter handle. He got 42 per cent and 60.6 per cent
of the total votes on Twitter and the website respectively.
Ikefe
finished in second position with 30 per cent of the votes on Twitter and 33.8
per cent on the website while 5.6 per cent on the website and 28 per cent on
Twitter voted for Suleman.
Usman's goal
was the third for Wikki in a Matchday 24 fixture against Niger Tornadoes which
the Bauchi club ran out 3-1 winners.
The
attacker's goal was a things of beauty as he picked up a pass from a teammate
on the left channel just after the half line, and raced down the left flank
into the box before cutting inside his marker to set up himself.
Usman made
no error by rifling home into the bottom corner to the Tornadoes goalkeeper's
left side to extend his club's lead at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in
Bauchi.
The winner
of the Wonder Goal 5 will receive a cash prize of N150,000, half of which will
be dominated to the charity of his choice located in Bauchi State where Wikki
are located.
Ayo Saka of
Rivers United, Ubong Friday of Akwa United, Salefu Ochowechi of Remo Stars and
FC Ifeanyiubah's Seka Pascal have previously won the VAT Wonder Goal this
season.
