I'm not under pressure, says Nkiyu

Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists FC, Bala Nkiyu has said that he is not under pressure to succeed at the club.


The former Katsina United gaffer recorded two back-to-back home wins after guided his side to a 2-1 victory over Elkanemi Warriors in the match day 22 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Sunday.

Nkiyu admitted that he has enjoyed tremendous support from the management, supporters and the players since taking over the club at the beginning of the second stanza, stressing that the support has given him confidence to do his best for the club.

The Giants Elephants are yet to pick a point on the road this season but the former Flamingoes manager assured that that the club will strive hard to secure an away point before the end of the season as he requested for more support, understanding, patience and prayers for him and the club to succeed.

He commended his players for playing to instructions in their match against El Kanemi Warriors.

Nkiyu has so far won two out of the three matches he played since assuming duty as TA of the Bauchi-based outfit.

He won 3-0 against Abia Warriors on match day 20, lost to Nasarawa United by 2-0 on match day 21, and defeated El Kanemi Warriors by 2-1 on match day 22.

The Giants Elephants match day 23 clash against Akwa United Wednesday in Uyo has been postponed to the June 16.


The victory over El Kanemi has moved Wikki Tourists three places on the NPFL log, from 18th position to 15th position.
