Warriors striker Babangida Ibrahim will be on the side line for up to four
weeks after a successful surgery on his right foot, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that Babangida sustained a
fracture of the proximal head of fifth metatarsal bone on his right foot about
three weeks ago at Ibadan during his side’s Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) clash against shooting Sports Club (3SC).
The club’s
General Coordinator, Dan Fulani disclosed to Sportinglens.blogspot.com that Babangida’s had a successful operation
in Gombe State when he was there for his father’s burial.
Fulani added
that the club is taking care of Babangida’s operation bills.
“He didn’t
know that it was something big when he picked up the injury in the game against
3SC. He was actually preparing for the game against Kano Pillars in Maiduguri when
he was told about his father’s death. We excused him to attend the burial and
when he was in Gombe he discovered that his leg was swollen and he called to
inform the club that he wanted to visit a doctor for the operation.
“I spoke
with the doctor and he assured us that everything would be okay. He had the
operation and I can confirm to you that the operation was successful. The doctor
said he will need four weeks before he can play again. We are monitoring
everything and we pray that he recover on time.” Dan Fulani said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
