The management
of Kano Pillars is making frank efforts to beef up its squad ahead of the
second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The former
champions are struggling to produce top form performance which they were known for in the ongoing season.
The club’s
media officer, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa confirmed to Sportinglens.blogspot.com
that the Pyramid City side is in talks with some players from ABS, Lobi Stars,
El Kanemi Warriors among others as a replacement for the players that are
leaving the club.
Malikawa
revealed that the club has placed four of its players on transfer market while some
players have been warned to live up to the expectation in their own interest. He
added that some players would be placed on half salary due to non performance.
Meanwhile, the
management of Kano Pillars FC has promoted its coach, Ibrahim A. Musa as acting
head coach pending the appointment of a new Technical Adviser.
The announcement
was made shortly after the management emergency meeting on Wednesday evening.
Musa will
temporarily replace former Technical Adviser, Kadiri Ikhana who resigned last weekend.
The
management also approved the appointment of Junior Pillars FC head coach Usman
Abdullah as the acting Chief coach and Friday Christopher as Assistant coach of
the senior team.
The management then promoted the Chief Coach of
Junior Kano Pillars team, Ahmad Garba Yaro Yaro as head coach with immediate
effect.
The club's
chairman, Alh. Tukur Babangida who headed the meeting urged the coaching crew
to put heads together to move the club forward.
Babangida said
their appointment is a morale booster for the club’s young coaches to attain
greater height.
