Bauchi set to host U-19 Maiborno Unity Cup

Arrangements have been concluded to stage the first U-19 Maiborno Unity Football Competition in Bauchi.

According to the Chairman Organising Committee, Usman Baba, the competition will be competed among the 20 Local Governments in the state.

Baba said the aim of the competition is to discover new talents as well as to promote the game of football right from the grassroots level.

He stated that seven teams will compete from Bauchi Local Government in a playoff to select the team that will represent the Local Government, while other Local Government will provide one team each.

He also said all the 20 teams will be provided with a participation prize in addition to the winning prizes.

Chairman Organising Committee said the opening ceremony will be decided at Azare Township Stadium while the closing ceremony is billed for Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.
