Acting
Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars, Ibrahim Musa has told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that he can conveniently manage
the club without pressure.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports that Coach Musa,
who was the team's assistant coach, was elevated to his new position by the
management on Wednesday following the resignation of former handler, Kadiri
Ikhana.
In a chat
with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, the former Bank of the North manager said he was not new in
Kano Pillars' system, having worked with the team for 11 years.
"I will
first of all thank the management for this opportunity. I have been working
with Kano Pillars since 2005 and I was part of the team's success stories in
the past 11 years," Musa told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
"I have
worked under so many coaches here from Ikhana, Salisu Yusuf, Babaganaru,
Maikaba and host of others that have managed this club. What is happening in
the team now is not a new thing.
"When
Kano Pillars won its first league title under Ikhana something of this nature
happened, we were in the 11th position in the first round and we played 2-2
draw against Jigawa Stars in Kano in our last match. Ikhana left the club for
treatment and Salisu Yusuf took over. Salisu led the team to two away matches,
we won one and drew one.
"Ikhana
came back after three games and we played nine matches unbeaten before we
eventually won the league that year. So we are experiencing similar situation
now and I am ready for the challenge."
The former
Wambai United FC of Kano coach said the technical crew has identified problems
affecting the team and would work on it before the resumption of the second
stanza.
"We are
already working on how to make the club great again. We have noticed some
arrears we need to work on and we will do all these before the league
resumption. Our attack is not sharp and we are going to do something to
it," he said.
