Real Madrid 2-3 Barcelona: Messi scores 500th club goal

Barcelona breathed fresh life into their La Liga title hopes as Lionel Messi scored a last-minute winner againast Real Madrid in a breathtaking match at the Santiago Bernabeu.

James Rodriguez came off the substitutes bench to level for 10-man Madrid, before Messi's 500th Barcelona goal at the death won it for Luis Enrique's side.

It was Madrid who made the brighter start, and Zinedine Zidane's side were rewarded when Casemiro stroked in the opener, but Messi equalised with another moment of magic before Ivan Rakitic's thunderbolt completed the turnaround.

Sergio Ramos was sent off for the second season in a row against Barcelona - and by the same referee - as official Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez showed him a straight red card for a lunge at Messi. James popped up in the 85th minute to level from close range, but it was Messi who had the final say.
