Nigeria
climbed up from 40th position to 38th. Nigeria tally on 716 points with Greece,
thus they are ranked in same 38th position.
The Super
Eagles are the sixth highest ranked African country. Egypt (25) leads the way,
followed by DR Congo (28) and then Senegal (31). Tunisia (34) and Cameroon (35)
complete the top-5.
Meanwhile,
Nigeria’s opponents in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier, Cameroon, also
moved up one place to 35th position.
Brazil have
returned to the top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking after a one-month
hiatus, replacing reigning FIFA World Cup™ champions Germany.
According to
fifa.com, Argentina remains in third but the heavyweight trio are accompanied
in the top five by two sides reaching unusually heady heights. Switzerland
(4th, up 1) have reached their highest position since the very first month of
the World Ranking (they were third in August 1993), while Poland (5th, up 1)
are at an all-time high. Neither have dropped in the standings for 11 months.
