By Taofeek Babalola

El Kanemi Warriors midfielder Samuel Mathias has said that Home-based Eagles will do everything to come out victorious against their opponents, Squirrels of Benin Republic in Sunday’s first leg encounter of the 2018 African Nations Championship qualifying qualifier in Cotonou.

The former Kano Pillars forward was among the 20-man squad that traveled to Cotonou on Friday.

Samuel vowed that they will to win on Sunday to make the return leg in Nigeria a mere formality.

“We are just coming back from training now and we are ready for the game. Our target is to win with wide margin on Sunday in Cotonou so that when we come back to Nigeria it will be very easy for us. We want to book our qualification on Sunday. I have so much faith that it will come to pass by Sunday,” Mathias said to SportingLife.

“It is very competitive in the team because every player has good thing to offer the team. The coaching crew is giving us what we need to know for the game and it is only left for us to deliver on Sunday. We won’t disappoint Nigerians on Sunday.”

The return leg will hold at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Saturday, 19th August, with the winner qualifying for the 5th African Nations Championship scheduled for Kenya early next year.
