.Says he won’t push him too far

Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare has revealed that the Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho is building match fitness after seeking specialist opinion on a lingering toe complaint.

Nigeria international missed his side’s last weekend’s win over Brighton and Hove Albion due to toe complain. He was not be fit enough to play in the Carabao Cup tie against Championship side Sheffield United on Tuesday.

The former Manchester City hitman came on as a substitute for his debut in the 4-3 defeat away at Arsenal in the opening day of the Premier League.

Leicester City will play Manchester United in their Premier League clash on Saturday but Shakespeare is not yet convinced whether the former Flying Eagles forward will make the trip to Old Trafford.

Shakespeare stressed that he will give Iheanacho enough time to regain his fitness before making him available for league game.

"[Iheanacho] is another one who has trained," Shakespeare added. "We have to be mindful about how far we push him. Gradually, he is getting back to fitness."
