The President
of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Samuel Ocheho has charged Zonal
representatives in the federation to fight aged cheat in the ongoing under 17
Youth Games Zonal eliminations.
The Zonal
elimination is to serve as the qualifier for the 2017 National Youth Games
(NYG) billed for Ilorin, Kwara State in September.
Ocheho made
the called in his message to all the six geopolitical zones in the country that
have commenced the zonal eliminations of the athletes that will represent their
zones in the NYG.
The
president said the call had become necessary because it was part of his board’s
resolutions during its two day retreat in Abuja last month to fight aged cheat
and any act capable of creating set back to the game in the country.
He also urged
them to collect data of all the screened players in their zones.
The
president expressed appreciation for the massive participation of teams in all
the Zones, especially in North West where most of the states in the Zone came
with both male and female teams at the Zonal headquarter in Kaduna.
He further urged all the Zonal representatives
to summit their final report of the elimination to the federation headquarter
and assured them of the board's support where necessary in ensuring that all Zones
conducted their eliminations successfully.
Ocheho
commended members of the board for their zeal and determination in moving the
game to a greater height in the country and wish them hitch free games in all
their centers.
