NPFL has improved, says Zango

By Taofeek Babalola

Gombe United defender Umar Zango has rated the standard of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) very high, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

The former Lobi Stars defender, who has been playing in the local league for a decade, said the officiating and the level of play by the players have improved.

“The league has improved unlike what it used to see before. It is more competitiv
e now than before. The standard of play is better and officiating has tremendously improved. We have new developments in the league now because the organizers have introduced so many new innovations into the league,” Zango said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

Gombe United are currently swimming in the relegation zone but the former Nasarawa United star said he and his teammates will fight till the end of the season to beat the drop.

“We still have hope and we believe anything can happen. We will keep on trying until the last game.”
