awkwardly after he leapt very high to nod in his second goal in Abia Warriors'

Professional Football League.
He was
initially rushed to the emergency unit of the Benue State University Teaching
Hospital, Makurdi, where he received treatment before he was transferred to the
Federal Medical Center, Umuahia where a team of doctors carried out the
operation by successfully joining both ends of the broken bones.
Since then,
he has been recuperating at the hospital where he has been receiving solidarity
messages and visits by his colleagues, coaches, fans and other loved ones.
According to
the club’s media team, Adetunji, who is in high spirit, expressed appreciation
at the solidarity he has received from people from all walks of life, saying it
has given him the courage to move on.
"I want
to thank God for his mercies towards me and for the solidarity I have received
from different people since the
incident occurred. I want to particularly express my gratitude to the management
of Abia Warriors for their care especially the Chairman Chief Emeka Inyama who
has done everything possible to ensure that I recover very fast. What they have
done for me is rare. Even my coaches, my colleagues and my fans have been there
for me since then and I want to assure them that the Sunday Adetunji they know
will be back soon even better," Adetunji said.
