Katsina United team’s doctor Abu Sufiayan Lawal has admitted that his side has been badly affected with the injury crisis that has left the team depleted with six matches to be played before the end of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.

The coach Baldwin Bazuaye’s tutored side is currently having about six players on the sideline receiving treatment for various degrees of injuries.

Katsina United young defender Ikechukwu Nwachukwu added to the list of injured players after he picked up a shoulder injury during Thursday morning training session.

He was immediately taken to the team's Orthopaedic hospital in Katsina where he was treated and confirmed to be out of actions for two weeks.

Apart from Nwachukwu, other players on the injury list are Chinedu Udechukwu (Hamstring) - expected to be back next week, Musa Ronaldo Suleman (Hamstring) - three weeks, Destiny Ashadi (Ankle Sprain) - a week.

Usman Bello (Hamstring) - Two weeks and Joshua Agboola (Ankle Sprain) - Out of the season.

In a chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, the team’s doctor Abu Sufiayan Lawal admitted the team is suffering from the absence of their utility players.

“Well, we are managing with what we have now because it is easy to miss some key players in the team. We are really suffering from the injuries,”   Lawal said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

“Nwachukwu’s sustained injury during training. He has been treated and he's recovering now. Hopefully, he will be back in training next week. We are expecting some of them too but Joshua’s case is different because it was a long injury he picked up before mid-season break and he can’t play again this season. ”
