Kano Pillars
forward Nwagua Nyima is on cloud nine over the maximum support he and his
teammates are enjoying from their fans during home games.
Nwagua
joined Sai Masu Gida from Lobi Stars during this mid-season transfer and his
experience of fans attendance at the Sani Abacha Stadium every match day is
beyond imagination.
The
multi-purpose stadium has a capacity of 16,000 fans but the former Shooting
Stars Sports Club of Ibadan hit-man told SportingLife that he feels 27 thousand
fans cheering them every weekend.
“Kano fans
love beautiful football. Initially, you hear people say it’s a must win but
since I arrived here I have noticed that if you do six to seven touches, you
will win their hearts. Although, goals really matter. For example, we played
very well over the weekend (against Plateau United) but all we got was a draw and they (fans) hailed us because we gave them good game. You can see the turnout for
yourself. I think about 27 thousand fans every weekend,” Nwagua said to
SportingLife.
