The remains
of late Kelechi Emeteole has been laid to rest on Friday at his village, Amiyi
Obinohia, Isikwuato Local Government Area in Abia State, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The veteran coach died in an Indian hospital on June 21 where he was receiving treatment for throat cancer.
The burial
was well attended by Creme
de la creme of the Nigerian football family. Rangers
International FC General Manager Christian Chukwu led his team’s management to
the event. Emeteole’s former teammate Emmanuel Okala and other ex-Rangers
players were also in attendance to pay their last respect to the respected
coach.
Players and official of Heartland FC of Owerri
were also part of the audience on Friday evening. Enyimba FC also sends their
representatives while the Nigeria Football Coaches Association was also
represented by their members.
The Abia
State FA, Imo State FA as well as Enugu State FA were also there to give him a befitting honour.
Rangers
International Media Officer, Foster Chime told SportingLife that: “It was a
well attended event. The football family was in attendance to give him his last
respect.”
