By Taofeek Babalola

Nwagua Nyima described his relief following "a bit of a dry spell" – after the Kano Pillars forward roared back into form on Sunday, scoring a brilliant opener in his side’s 2-0 win over Abia Warriors in the match day 35 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

Nwagua's last goal prior to the game was against Remo Stars in July and his fifth goals for the Pyramid City outfit this season.

The former Lobi Stars forward, who received his Best Player Award for for the month of June, said that he is happy to have his striking partner, Junior Lokosa, back in the team after serving his red card.

“I have missed scoring and I really felt good to be on the score sheet again. It was a special day for me too because I received my best player award for June. I am also happy to have my playing partner, Lokosa back,” Nwagua said to SportingLife.

The former Shooting Stars Sports club (3SC) of Ibadan striker also said he and his colleges needed the game against Abia Warriors to please their fans for their last home draw against Plateau United,

“After the draw at home to Plateau United, we resolved that we needed to correct our mistakes noticed against Plateau which we did and it was really helpful for our victory. We needed the three points badly and we thank God we got it.”
