Players and
officials of Kano Pillars will travel by air to Calabar on Saturday for their
matchday 32 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter with
Enyimba on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can report.
The club’s
media officer Rilwanu Idris Malikawa told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that the team left Kano on Friday to Kaduna before joining Apex Airline on Saturday morning at
the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja to Calabar.
Malikawa
said the management of the club under the chairmanship of Alhaji Tukur
Babangida decided to airlift the players to relieve them from the
hardship of traveling by road to Calabar.
“The
management wants the players to be focused on the match that is why it would
not relent in its efforts by providing comfort for them and hope they would
come back home with good result. We know the match will not be easy but with
spirit and current form of the players nothing is impossible to achieve in the
match,” Malikawa said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Malikawa
explained further that Sai Masu Gida is targeting to pick one of the
continental tickets at the end of the season which he said is achievable with
grace of God grace.
He added
that the players will return back to Abuja by air on Monday and move straight to Kano the same day to allow them prepare well for their rescheduled match with Rivers United on Wednesday at
the Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata, Kano.
