Orlando
Pirates have announced the signing of Nigerian striker, Christian Obiozor. It was
reported by the Siya crew in May that the highly rated striker had been linked
with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns, with indications at the time that Downs were
assessing the player.
The
Buccaneers, however, acted quickly by luring the 22-year-old to club and added
him to the squad roster for the 2017/18 season. He has been playing for Enyimba
International FC in the Nigeria Premier League.
The striker
had also been linked with clubs in Germany and France in recent times.
Orlando
Pirates finished in 11th place on the PSL log at the end of last season and
will look to bounce back to reclaim the title by boosting their attack options
with Obiozor.
Obiozor will
link up with his compatriot, goalkeeper Daniel Emmanuel, at the South African
side as they look to wrestle the title from Bidvest Wits.
