VAT WONDER GOAL: Usman promises to do more for Wikki Tourists

.To donate half of the money reward to motherless baby’s home

Wikki Tourists forward Ahmed Usman has said that his Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) VAT Wonder Goal award will ginger him to do more for the club, reports Sportinglens.blogspot.com. 


Usman’s third goal against Niger Tornadoes in the matchday 23 game which The Big Elephants secured a 3-1 win over the visiting side was voted as the best goal of that week.

He polled the highest number of votes in the voting procedure for the best goal of the matchday Matchday 24 ahead of Andrew Ikefe of Niger Tornadoes and Musa Suleman of Katsina United.

In an interview with Sportinglens.blogspot.com after he was presented with the dummy cheque of N150, 000 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Sunday before their encounter against Kano Pillars on match day 28 tie, Usman added that the award is not only a morale booster but will earn more credibility to the NPFL.

“I want to thank my colleagues, supporters
and all everybody that assisted me to win the award. I want to commend LMC for their foresight for introducing the award,” Usman said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

He also revealed that part of the money will be used to organize a mini get together with his teammates while the remaining half will be donated to a motherless baby’s home as directed by the organisers.

Ahmed Usman who wears jersey no 27 for Wikki Tourists has so far scored three goals in the league, one goal each against Abia Warriors, Niger Tornadoes and Kano Pillars.
