By Taofeek Babalola

The League Management Company (LMC) has moved to forestall any crowd incidents during Wednesday’s match day 30 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) between Katsina United and Kano Pillars by designating the fixture as High Risk Match based on historic rivalry between the two teams, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

A special envoy, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, Chairman of the NFF Security Committee has been detailed to work with the home team towards ensuring absolute safety of all fans during the game.

The league body also charged Katsina United to cooperate with the Special Envoy to ensure that there is adequate security cover before, during and after the match especially for the travelling fans from Kano.

LMC mandated Katsina United to go beyond the mandatory minimum number of security presence and bring in additional officers for the game to hold safely without rancour.

They also advised Kano Pillars to admonish their fans to avoid provocative actions that may lead to breakdown of law & order before, during & after the match.

Players and officials of Kano Pillars arrived in Katsina on Tuesday morning in preparation for the match.

Kano Pillars defeated Rangers International 2-0 in the match day 29 on Sunday while Katsina United lost 1-0 to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the Lekan salami Stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan.
