Supporters
of Wikki Tourists and Kano Pillars have been urged to see Sunday’s matchday 28
of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match between the two sides
as a family affairs, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.
The match
has been tagged as a northern derby but Kano Pillars media officer, Idris
Malikawa advised the supporters to see the match as a way to strengthening the
bond of relationship between the two clubs.
In a chat
with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Malikawa urged the teeming supporters of the club that would
be in Bauchi on Sunday to be law abiding and avoid anything that would distract
the good cordial relationship between the good people of Kano and Bauchi States
during the match.
“There is no
doubt that the match would be the star match of the week based on the current
form of our players and Wikki Tourists. Again, the stand of the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF) and League management Company (LMC) in ensuring that
match officials are discharging their responsibility effectively would also add
glamour to the game. So instead of seeing the game as a northern derby it
would be of benefit for the supporters if they can see it as a
way of promoting good football and avoid anything that can bring ember of
discord between the two clubs. We are
going there with mission and by God grace our target would be achieved this
season,” Malikawa said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Sai Masu
