By Taofeek Babalola

The matchday 32 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) between Rangers international and Rivers United was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

The matched was called off after 20 minutes of play when it was raining heavily and the remaining 70 minutes would be concluded at 8am on Monday morning at the same venue.

The media officer of Rangers International, Foster Chime confirmed that: “The match could not continue as expected. The match was suspended after 20 minutes and the remaining 70 minutes would be played tomorrow morning.”

Before the referee called off the game, Rivers United posted on their twitter account that: “This game will be called off at some point UNLESS the rains subside. Pitch is slowly getting waterlogged.”
