Abia
Warriors Football Club of Umuahia have congratulated sister club, Enyimba
International of Abia for qualifying for the group stage of this season’s CAF
Champions league after dispatching Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel in Sousse.
In a
congratulatory letter he sent to the Enyimba Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, Abia
Warriors Chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama noted that Enyimba’s latest victory, has
once again placed Abia State on the Sporting map of Africa and demonstrates
that their emergence as Nigeria’s champions in last season’s league was no
fluke.
He said
Enyimba’s qualification for the money spinning group stage of the continent’s
elite club competition came as a result of hardwork, determination and
resilience and urged them to continue with the same spirit to enable them bring
back the trophy which they won back-to-back in 2003 and 2004, to Nigeria.
According to
Chief Inyama, winning the trophy at this time will also act as a pay back to
the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, who, he noted, has not hidden his
affection and love for sports through his immense sponsorship and support not
only to Enyimba International football club but also to all other sports
organizations in the State.
