Maikaba: Playing under floodlights won’t affect my team

Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser, Abdul Maikaba has said that his boys won’t be timid when they play Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club (MFM) in a week 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League match at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Friday.

The match which is expected to be played under floodlights will kick off by 7pm.

Maikaba, who admitted that his boys are playing a night football for the first, would give their best in the match.

“We are preparing for the match like any other match but the only difference is that we are playing night football for the first time. My players are playing under floodlights for the first time in the NPFL but we’ve been able to train under that condition for about forty-five minute in Bauchi which I think will help us,” Maikaba told SportingLife.

The former Kano Pillars manager described MFM as a good side as he said that he has his own game plans for the match.

“I have seen MFM games twice this season and they are good side like our team. We have our game plan for the match and I hope it works. Wikki Tourists has improved as a team. If you look at the log table we conceded fewer goals and we are okay in our attack too.  It shows that there are lots of positive changes in the team.”

The players and officials of the team are expected to arrive in Lagos on Wednesday ahead of Friday’s clash.
