Olympics Draws: Nigeria opponents are tough, says Siasia

Dream Team VI coach Samson Siasia has admitted that all the teams in the Nigeria Group B of the 2016 Men’s Olympic Football Tournament are tough.

Nigeria was drawn alongside Colombia, Japan and Sweden in a draws held at the Maracana Stadium in Brazil on Thursday.

But Sia one is confident of his team scaling through the group stage to the knockout stages of the competition.

Siasia is however targeting a victory in his first Group B. match against Japan on August 4th, 2016 a team which he described as very fast and technically good like the rest of the teams. The match would be played at 9pm local time.

"The group will be difficult but is fair enough for us to qualify from if we prepare very well for the competition. I am confident we will qualify from the group. Like I said all the teams are tough there are no more easy teams to beat. It's all about better preparation.

"I am targeting a comprehensive win against our first Group B opponent Japan on the 4th of August. Japan won't be easy but we need beat them well to take command in the group. If we get the first three points in the fisrt match that will give us the needed confident to try to beat Sweden in our second group match slated for August 7th, 2016  6pm local time before we take on Colombia in August 10th at 7pm local time in their last group match", Siasia told NationSport from Brazil.
