Rangers thank fans, crave for more night matches

The Management of Rangers International FC of Enugu has appreciated their teaming fans and supporters within and outside Enugu for massive support and turnout during a 2-1 win over Nasarawa United FC in a match day 13 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter on Friday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

A statement by the Club’s Media Director, Foster Chime said the display of support and cheer throughout the match was very overwhelming and tremendous, adding that the fans conduct, discipline and composure in the face of provocation was commendable and shows act of sportsmanship.

The management expressed happiness over the result of the match and the continuous victories of the club in the ongoing league, assuring management, board and the state government support to ensure the team continues recording positive results in the league.

The club’s General Manager, Paul Chibuzor appreciated the chairman of the League Management Company, Shehu Dikko for keeping faith with the club to host a night match under floodlight and ‘LIVE’ on super sports.

Mr. Chibuzor informed that the management in conjunction with Ministry of Sports, Charles Ndukwe and State F.A will seek the approval from LMC to play more of league matches in the night in the city, now that it is evidence that the soccer loving fans of Enugu are in love with night matches.

The Rangers management assured the fans that: “With their prayers and support, their darling team, Rangers would continue to perform creditably and play perfect games to win subsequently in their remaining matches.
“Rangers FC believes her players and officials are more than ever committed and determined to maintain their winning run in the league, assuring that the reschedule matches day 12 (completion of 15 minutes) against Giwa FC on Wednesday in Abuja is victory assured as they will defend their one nil lead until the final whistle.”

Enugu State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Charles Ndukwe said state government is committed to do everything within its capacity in order to ensure Rangers regains its lost glory and return to the continent next season.
