Former Nigeria U-17 star, Stanley Okoro says he is happy to score his first league goal for Umuahia based Abia Warriors after joining them this season.
Okoro, who
is nicknamed “Little Messi” by his fans because of his immense football skills,
opened his account for the Warriors in the 65th minute when he fired home from
outside the box in Abia Warriors’ 3-1 home win over MFM of Lagos at the
weekend, a goal, he said made his day.
“I am very
happy to score my first league goal for my new team. I have been working hard
here to fit into the team and I am excited at the results we have achieved so
far. Our ambition here is to win the league or at least pick a continental ticket
at the end of the season and by the Grace of God, we will achieve it,” the
former Almeria of Spain left-footed player said.
He commended
the spirit in the team, insisting that determination and hardwork has remained
their watch word while the coaches have been united.
The Edo
State born former Heartland FC of Owerri hitman promised to always do his best
whenever selected for any match.
