Former Fifa
and Caf instructor Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has said that Fifa won’t ban
Nigeria for the court order that ousted the Pinnick board just as it has not
done anything about the recent court order in Egypt.
According to him some persons have been using the name of Fifa to threaten Nigeria in the past and there is no fooling anybody on the issue again since it is an internal matter.
"What I
know is that I don’t expect Fifa to ban Nigeria on this case. In the past some
persons have been used to threaten that Fifa would ban the country but with
what is happening to Fifa and at Fifa now we all know that there is no
international law that supersedes the law of the land,” Onigbinde said.
"The
only thing is that we should use this period to put our football in good stead
and curb this decline in our football. Everybody should be called to a round table
to discuss the way forward for Nigerian football,” he advised.
