Gambo
Mohammed’s 45th minute goal earned Kano Pillars a 2-1 win over
Nasarawa United in a week 11 Nigeria Professional Football Leagus clash at the
Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
Gambo returned
to Sai Musa Gida’s line up and led the team’s attack against Solid Miners after
he has fully recovered from an ankle injury.
The gangling
striker started from the bench in his team’s last game at Giwa, which they lost
2-0 in midweek.
Kano Pillars
came from behind to beat Nasarawa United 2-1 to avenge a loss last season,
which saw them surrender their 12-year home invincibility.
Nasarawa,
who ended Pillars unbeaten run last season, got the opening goal in the game in
the 15th minute through Esosa Igbinoba, before Adamu Mohammed equalised for the
home team in the 38th minute.
Captain
Gambo Mohammed completed their comeback with the winner in the 45th minute.
Pillars now
have 18 points from 10 games while Nasarawa have six points from eight games.
