The Senior
Women National Team, Super Falcons, will fly out of the country on Tuesday for
the first leg of their 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations final qualifying
fixture against their Senegalese counterparts.
The
Senegalese Football Federation has confirmed to the NFF that the first leg
match will take place in Dakar on Friday, 8th April, while the NFF has also
confirmed Tuesday, 12th April for the return leg in Abuja.
Senegal
ousted Guinea in the earlier round and their reward is a two –leg confrontation
with the African champions, with the winner earning a slot at the 10th Africa
Women Cup of Nations to be staged by Cameroon later this year.
"Like I
said before, we are the defending champions, and we just have to be really
prepared so that we can remain on top. Most teams in Africa want to beat
Nigeria, and we will not let that happen.”
In a chat
with thenff.com, Omagbemi expressed happiness over the quality of players in
the team after a warm up game against FC Eaglenet of Lugbe, Abuja at the
Package B of the FIFA Goal Project, which the Falcons won 1-0.
