West Ham
have made Nigeria international and Watford’s Odion Ighalo one of their striker
targets ahead of the summer, according to reports from The Sun.
The Hammers are set for a massive off-season of transfer activity as they look to kick off their Olympic Stadium era, and will have the financial clout to compete with teams around them at the upper end of the Premier League thanks to the division’s new TV deal and potential European qualification.

A number of
big name players have been aligned with the east London club, and now reports
claim that Ighalo is on West Ham’s short-list.
The Nigerian
has been a huge hit in the top tier, with his 14 goals having been a big factor
in the Hornets’ successful battle to avoid relegation – they were tipped by
many to return to the Championship before a ball was kicked.
Further to
this, Ighalo smashed 20 efforts in his debut season in Hertfordshire, taking
his tally in English league football to 34 in just 60 games.
