It
was drama at the Federal Court of Appeal in Jos, on Thursday, May 26 as the
Nigeria Football Federation faction led by Melvin Amaju Pinnick, finally
appealed against a High Court order ordering it to vacate office and hand over
to the Ambassador Chris Giwa led team.
The
order it would be recalled was given at the Jos High Court on April 8, 2016,
after it was re-listed following the appeal of the plaintiffs.
The order was
specific, ordering the present leadership of the NFF to hand over to the Chris
Giwa led board until otherwise determined following an earlier suit against the
election of the Amaju Pinnick led executive committee.
The
NFF team on Thursday, was led by a lawyer from the Festus Keyamo Chambers and
included NFF in-house counsel, Barr. Okey Obi.
On
the other hand the Chris Giwa team was led by Barr. Habila Ardzard in a new
twist to a case that was hitherto tagged non-existent by a faction.
After
a careful consideration of both parties submission on Thursday, the matter was
adjourned to June 28, 2016 by the judges presiding over the matter. The latest
development is an indication that the case against misleading opinions all this
while has been on and will now follow the full course of the Nigerian legal
system.
