Obaje’s hat-trick sinks 3SC

Godwin Obaje scored a hat-trick as Wikki Tourists defeated struggling Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan by 4-0 in a Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 17 match in Bauchi.

With three goals scored against 3SC, Obaje now leading the league scorers chat with 11 goals ahead of the Niger Tornadoes’ Ibrahim Gata who has nine goals.

Saidu Abdullahi scored the fourth goal to nail the coffin of Oluyole Warriors whose technical adviser Kadiri Ikhana resigned on Sunday.

Godwin is the first player in the NPFL this season to clinch a double figure. He was handed the match ball at the end of the game in recognition of his hat-trick against 3SC.

In other matches played on Sunday, Plateau United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by El Kanemi, Warri Wolves stopped Sunshine Stars 2-0 and Lobi added to the problems of Giwa FC after they beat the Jos club 2-0 in Makurdi.


Awa United pipped Nasarawa United 1-0, while the match between MFM FC and Niger Tornadoes will be played Monday morning after heavy downpour in Lagos.
