Kano Pillars Technical adviser Mohammed Baba Ganaru has said that Heartland FC were lucky to
escape with a draw in a Match Day 17 of the Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) clash played at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
Ganaru said
the game was for his side to win but his boys were wasteful in front of goal.
The Sai Masu
Gida has failed to win in their last two matches but Ganaru said the team’s
recent predicament is a temporary setback.
He said his
team will aim for wins in the double away matches against Niger Tornadoes and
Plateau United.
In a chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Ganaru said: “We created
lots of chances against Heartland but we missed all of them. Heartland FC were
just lucky to escape with a draw because we deserved to win the game. We
control the game throughout the game and we tried everything to ensure that we
won but it ended that way.
“Heartland’s
game is now history. Our focus now is on the matches against Niger Tornadoes
and Plateau United. Hopefully we will try and get good results in the two games
and by the grace of God we will come back to Kano with victories. What happened
to us is a temporary setback.”
