Abia Warriors beat Giwa FC in Umuahia

Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia beat struggling Giwa FC of Jos 1-0 in the Match Day 15 match that took place at the Umuahia Township Stadium to move to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table .
Abia Warriors striker Uchechukwu Ihuarulam nodded in the only goal of the match in the 38th minute as he netted his third league goal of the season to the admiration of the Warriors bench led by Coach Kennedy Boboye.


They have 27 points from 14 matches, same as Rangers, but enjoy a better goals difference of +8 as against Rangers +6.

Giwa FC remains second to the bottom with only 14 points from 15 games.

In his reaction, Boboye thanked God for the victory adding that the team will continue to strengthen areas of weakness in other to meet its target at the end of the season.


His Giwa FC counterpart, Coach Gbenga Ogunbote praised his boys for their bravery in Umuahia insisting that victory could have gone either way.
