Players and
officials of Ikorodu United travelled to Kano on Friday in batches with two different
Airlines ahead of Sunday’s Match Day 15 of the Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) clash slated for Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Sunday.
According to
information made available to SportingLife by the club’s media manager, Babatunde
Ayoola, 27 delegation comprising 18 players and nine officials departed local
wing of the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos A2 with Azman and Aero
Airlines.
Ayoola said
the first batch departed with Azman Air by 6:45pm while the second batch
travelled with Aero Airline by 7:20pm.
“That was
the way the traveling was arranged for us. We are coming to Lagos on Monday in
batches too,” Ayoola said to SportingLife.
The club’s
head Coach Sam Okpodu said the team will target three points or a draw in the
game.
Okpodu said:
"Our win against Heartland is in the history books. And our focus now is
Kano Pillars with hope of possible three points or a draw. We know the task is
not going to be easy. But we want to thank our fans and supporters for their
support in our last home win against heartland."
