Players of
Kano Pillars FC have been urged to forget their 2-1 home defeat to Enyimba
international in a rescheduled Match Day 7 Nigeria Professional Football League
(NPFL) game on Wednesday.
The chairman
of the club, Kabiru Baita made the called while addressing them shortly after
their morning training session on Friday at the Kano Pillars Stadium.
The
chairman, who was represented by his board members Hassan Abdullahi Garo and
Garba Nawamba, told them that they should focus on Sunday encounter with Ikorodu
United in Kano.
He charged
them to consider Enyimba defeat as a challenge to them and continue to do their
best in ensuring that they won the league.
He assured
them that the board would continue to give priority to their welfare.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the
acting captain, Rabiu Ali pledged that they would not disappoint the
government, people of Kano and entire fans of the club at the end of the
season.
Meanwhile
the media officer of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa expressed shocked with
reports in some media that Enyimba players were attacked in Kano.
Malikawa
said: “Pillars and Enyimba players left the pitch to the dressing room together
after the final whistle and none of them was attack. But the Enyimba driver was
got a minor injury in his head outside the stadium which I cannot testify how
it was occurred and let people always be objectives.”
