Giwa FC will
honour their week 15 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash against
Abia Warriors in Umuahia, it has been confirmed.
The Jos
Elephants missed their two previous league matches against Rangers International of Enugu and Wikki
Tourists of Bauchi.
A source in the camp told SportingLife that the team departed Jos on Thursday afternoon for
Umuahia ahead of this weekend game.
“Well, I can
confirm to you that we are going to honour the game against Abia Warriors in
Umuahia. If you had called me yesterday (Wednesday) I will tell you that I
don’t know whether we will be in Umuahia but as I am talking to you now we are
on our way to Umuahia for the game. Giwa FC are good side anytime any day. We
are always set for the match anytime,” a source told SportingLife.
The
Jos-based side were banished to Ilorin for three league matches after some
supporters of the club disrupted matchday 12 fixture between the club and
Rangers several times by hauling dangerous objects on the field aimed at the
second assistant referee forcing the center referee to finally call off the
match in the 74th minute.
Giwa FC
failed to show up in Abuja for the conclusion of the remaining 16 minutes
against Rangers. They also refused to honour the game in Ilorin for Sunday’s
fixture against Wikki Tourists.
