Bayelsa
United has unveiled Festus Allen as the new technical adviser of the club ahead
of the Nigeria National League (NNL) kick-off.
The former C.O.D United FC of Lagos manager signed one year contract with the former
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions.
Allen will
be assisted by Richard Bubagha and Samke Nyanabofa.
The General
coordinator of the team, Eddy Ohis said Allen’s appointment was based on his
experience in the league.
According to
Ohis, Allen possess all the qualities the club is looking for in a coach as he believes
the former Sharks FC of Port-Harcourt gaffer can return the club back to the
premier league.
“We felt he is
the best for what we want at the moment. Our major target is to bring the team
back to the premier league next season and the coach has promised to do his
best to achieve that. We also commended the State Governor for appointing the chairman
of the club. The team is focused and determined,” Ohis said.
Bayelsa
United alongside Sharks FC, FC Taraba and Kwara United were all relegated from
the NPFL last season.
