Bosso drums support for Super Eagles

El Kanemi Warriors technical adviser Ladan Bosso believes Super Eagles can spring up a surprise against Egypt in the return leg of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nation qualifier at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Tuesday.

Mohammed Salah struck in the stoppage time to deny Nigeria a famous win over Egypt in an action-packed game which ended 1-1 in Kaduna on Friday.

The former Flying Eagles coach insisted that Eagles played best of football against Egypt but admitted that ill-luck affected the team.

The former Kano Pillars manager urged Nigerians and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to rally round the team as he expressed hope that Eagles will go to Alexandria on Tuesday and secure a good result.

“I have already communicated to those that matters. I have told NFF president (Amaju Pinnick) not to give up on the team. This is the best Super Eagles I have seen in recent time in terms of character and determination. It was just an element of ill luck and loss of concentration. The goal against Super Eagles was an avoidable situation,” Bosso said to SportingLife.
“At the same time, everybody should know that that team was a good team. The fighting spirit was there, the determination was there. The game was going into our favour only that ill-luck affected us at the end of the day. I think Siasia is still okay for the team.
“If we have been playing with this kind of team, we would have seen a better Super Eagles. We can pull up a surprise in Egypt. It was 1-1 here. We can go there and play 2-2, 3-3 and we can still beat them at their home ground. The most important thing for us on Tuesday is to score first so as to put them (Egypt) under pressure.
“Nigerians should not give up on the team. NFF should just play their role by supporting the team. Even if we don’t qualify which I am definitely believe that we will qualify, people like us that are in the business know that this is a very good team.”
